8:00 AM Pick up from your hotel marks the beginning of an immersive full-day excursion, as we delve into the awe-inspiring Sacred Valley of the Incas. This journey encompasses exploration of renowned archaeological sites such as Pisaq and Ollantaytambo.
Pisaq (archaeological zone) serves as our initial point of discovery within the Sacred Valley, situated a mere 50 minutes from Cusco. Here, atop a mountain just 20 minutes from the town, lies the captivating archaeological complex of Pisaq. Its climatic conditions range from 14 to 20 degrees Celsius, offering a comfortable environment for exploration throughout the day and into the night.
The vibrant market of Pisac awaits, where an array of treasures beckon, including straw hats, alpaca textiles, musical instruments, paintings, ceramics, antiques, and jewelry.
Our journey continues to Urubamba, a pivotal locale within the Sacred Valley where we’ll indulge in a delectable lunch buffet.
Next on our itinerary is the Inca fortress and Ollantaytambo Citadel, situated opposite Pisac and approximately 80 km from Cusco. Here, amidst streets that still echo the architectural legacy of the Inca, lies the strategic military, religious, and agricultural center of the archaeological complex of Ollantaytambo.
Overnight stay: Hotel in Aguas Calientes, 3***.
Early in the morning, we’ll enjoy breakfast before heading to the bus station, where 7:00 AM we’ll board a bus bound for the Machu Picchu archaeological site. Once there, a guided tour of this mystical place awaits us, spanning approximately 3 hours. Highlights include the Temple of the Three Windows, the Solar Clock, and other remarkable features. The specific circuit we explore will depend on the type of entrance ticket secured during reservation.
