You will be transferred from the airport to our central office in Puerto Maldonado. We can provide a carry-on bag for your essentials.
We have our private port on the Tambopata River. Our journey will involve a 2 to 3-hour boat ride to the Sachavacayoc Farm. We can make wildlife observation stops along the way, although this might extend the travel time. Our private tours offer flexibility.
During the tour, you may see birds, alligators, capybaras, and monkeys if luck permits. We will enjoy a box lunch on the boat, with vegetarian or vegan options available upon request. You can also bring water to refill on the boat.
Upon arrival at Sachavacayoc Farm, you can rest and spend the night surrounded by the sounds of the Amazon. After a break, we’ll take a jungle walk to introduce you to the forest, and later, a night walk to seek out nocturnal creatures and insects like the large Tarantula.
Dinner will be served at Sachavacayoc Lodge.
We will visit the Macaw Clay Lick “El Chuncho,” the largest clay lick in the world, where the three primary macaw species and various parrots congregate. Hundreds of parrots gather to consume clay, a distinctive behavior of this area.
The tour will start early at 4 a.m., with a two-hour boat ride upriver on the Tambopata River. To fully appreciate the bird spectacle, it’s crucial to arrive before they do. During the tour, you’ll have a buffet breakfast while observing their natural activities.
