DAY 1

MACHU PICCHU FULL DAY FROM POROY CUSCO (Description)

The full-day tour to Machu Picchu tour from Poroy, Cusco starts very early in the morning. At 5:50 AM, we will pick you up at your hotel in Cusco and then take you to the train station located in Poroy, about a 30-minute ride from Cusco. Here, we will board the train that will take you to the town of Machu Picchu, a 3-hour and 30-minutes ride. On the way, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the views and landscape of the Sacred Valley.

Upon your arrival, your guide will be waiting for you outside of the train station to accompany you to the bus station, where will take the bus up to the Machu Picchu archaeological site (a 30-minute ride).

Once here, we will start the guided tour, visiting the most important places of the lost citadel such as The Main Square, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Solar Clock (the most important Intihuatana), the royal quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows, houses, cellars, a large central square, and all connected by narrow roads and steps that are surrounded by terraces cut into the mountainside. This will depend on the T ype of entrance ticket to Machu Picchu or circuit for a period of 3 hours.

At the right time, we will take the bus down to Machu Picchu town, where you will have time to get your lunch in any restaurant that you can find here.

In the afternoon, we will take the train back to Poroy. You need to be half an hour before the departure time to avoid inconvenience. After a journey of 3 hours and 30 minutes, we will arrive in Poroy where we will be waiting to bring you back to your Hotel in Cusco.

Wow, what great service! I’ve been on many tours and few have had the clarity and communication skills that Tania and her team had. Planning Machu Picchu on your own is *technically* possible, but it takes a tremendous amount of work to plan with a lot of unknown variables. We had the best time with Mach Picchu Peru Travel company, not only in the Tambopata Amazon rainforest, but our one day Machu Picchu tour! We struggled to find reviews with them on the rainforest portion so we weren’t sure what to expect and it was so amazing!!!

Our guide, Javier was super knowledgeable, easy-going and all around wonderful. Everything was taken care of from transportation to and from the airport, to the beautiful accommodations, to the best food we’ve had in Peru. We even asked them for some of their recipes on this four day excursion because it was so well flavored. They accommodated vegetarian and dairy free! We saw a lot of animals thanks to our guide and I would recommend the four day tour because otherwise if you only do three days you just have one day to potentially see animals!
We could not recommend using this 100% Peruvian travel company more!! We would love to come back and use them again!
