We’re going to have an awesome tour of Lima, exploring its three main parts: Ancient, Colonial, and Modern.
First, we’ll start with modern Lima. We’ll check out the main buildings and the nice neighborhoods in the city. We’ll visit Miraflores, the popular Larcomar shopping center, and the Parque del Amor. There, we can take a break to enjoy the seaside views along the boardwalk and snap some great photos.
Next, we’ll go to see Huaca Pucllana, an old ceremonial and archaeological site built in the 4th century AD. It’s a sacred place that the Incas used to honor their gods.
After that, we’ll explore the San Francisco Monumental Complex, famous for its colonial religious art and underground crypts, known as the Catacombs. This is one of the top attractions from colonial Lima.
Finally, we’ll head to Lima’s Historic Center, where you can see the old “Square Lima” or walled city, featuring over fifty colonial monuments and buildings. Some highlights include Paseo de la República, Plaza San Martín, Plaza Mayor, the Government Palace, the Municipal Palace, the Archbishop’s Palace, and the stunning Basilica Cathedral.
