The Sacred Valley ATV Tour from Cusco 1 Day tour offers an exhilarating adventure where you’ll have the opportunity to visit some of the region’s most iconic sites. Explore the ancient agricultural terraces of Moray, marvel at the intricate Maras Salt Mines, and immerse yourself in the vibrant market of Chinchero.
You can choose from two convenient time slots to enjoy this Sacred Valley ATV Tour Maras and Moray:
Join us for an unforgettable journey through the stunning landscapes of the Sacred Valley, combining cultural exploration with the thrill of quad biking.
Leaving the city of Cusco and heading towards kilometer 39 of the Cusco-Urubamba road, a private transport ride will take about 45 minutes to reach the base of Quad Bikes Sacred Valley.
Upon arrival, you’ll have a 10-15 minute training session to familiarize yourself with the ATVs. This is also a good time to purchase necessary items for the route, such as water, energy bars, snacks, biscuits, rehydration drinks, and to use the restroom facilities.
Once ready, we will start driving the ATVs. After approximately 10 minutes, we will have our first stop to take in the majestic view of the prominent snow-capped peaks in the area, including the Chicon and Veronica mountains. This stop offers a perfect opportunity for photography and a guided explanation about these significant landmarks.
Continuing our journey, the route features incredible landscapes with various ascents and descents, ensuring a lot of fun along the way.
Moray: After about 45 minutes of travel, we will reach the archaeological site of Moray. Here, we will stop for a guided tour conducted by one of our professional bilingual guides, who will explain the impressive agricultural terraces.
Following our visit to Moray, we will pass through the typical village of Maras, known for its colonial-era doorways.
Salineras (Salt Mines): The final point of our visit will be the famous Maras Salt Mines. We will drive the ATVs up to the ticket control point, beyond which it is considered too dangerous to drive. From here, our agency will provide transportation to the salt mines, which takes about 15 minutes. At the salt mines, you will have the opportunity to walk around and explore the area.
After visiting the salt mines, we will return to the base and then head back to Cusco. On the way, we will stop at a craft market in Chinchero. This visit is highly recommended to learn about traditional Andean weaving techniques and natural dyeing processes.
We will then return to Cusco, concluding our services for the day.

Maras Salt Mines have been significant since the pre-Inca era. The salt farmers utilize natural spring water, allowing it to evaporate and leaving behind crystals of salt. This traditional method has been practiced for generations, and the salt of Maras is known for its distinct taste and nutritional value.
Moray is home to farming terraces that resemble a Roman amphitheater. The terraces have different levels dug into the ground, each with a different temperature. The Incas used this site as an agricultural laboratory, experimenting with crop growth conditions. It played a crucial role in the development of Peru’s diverse potato and corn varieties.
