Inti Raymi Tour 2026 Peru

The Inti Raymi Tour Package or Festival of the Sun was the most important celebration in the Inca Empire, dedicated to the Sun God “Inti” and celebrated every June 24th, 2026 in the city of Cusco, Peru.

The festivities traditionally included dances, music, and animal sacrifices as expressions of gratitude to the Sun God (Inti), seeking a bountiful harvest and blessings for the following year.

Surprisingly, this festival was once prohibited as it was considered “pagan.” Today, it gathers thousands of people and over 800 participants, including actors, dancers, and musicians in traditional attire. The event includes representations and praises held outside the temple of Qorikancha, in the Main Square of the city, and finally, in the Archaeological Park of Saqsayhuamán.

The Sacsayhuamán Ceremony represents the central part of the entire Inti Raymi. As the third and final stage—and the most important—it is celebrated at the summit of Sacsayhuamán, made up of gigantic rocks that until now remain a source of investigation and enigma. In this setting, the Inca and the coya (his wife) arrive to perform the symbolic sacrifice of the llama.

The ceremony continues with the beautiful dances interpreted by the Akllas del Sol (the chosen maidens of the Inca Empire) can be appreciated. The Inca pays homage to the Sun God (Inti Sun) through prayers for the well-being and prosperity of Tahuantinsuyo Empire, offering Cacred Chicha and coca leaves to Inti God. At the end, the Inca expresses his satisfaction with the ceremony, and the atmosphere becomes festive and glorious, with the hope that next year will be as well. (Lasts approximately 90 minutes). (Your Tour Include a spot on this scenery)

We begin with a pickup from your hotel at 10:15 to 10:45; to go to Sacsayhuaman and natural landscapes that are commonly used for the staging
