Recommendations for this day:

After the tour, we suggest taking a walk through the Plaza de Armas and its surroundings. You can admire the talent of Cusco artisans in the craft shops in the different places that you can find around the Plaza de Armas, enjoy the renowned Peruvian cuisine in the nearby restaurants or simply relax on one of the benches in the Plaza. de Armas, capturing the classic souvenir photo.

All this can be enjoyed in a cozy atmosphere, at night the city of Cusco tends to be a little cold depending on the year. If you like nightlife, you will find numerous clubs and bars around the square.

6:30 AM We begin with hotel pick-up, this tour is a full-day visit to the impressive Sacred Valley, which includes visits to archaeological sites such as Chinchero (3,762 ft / 1,148 m), Moray (11,800 ft / 3,600 m), Salineras (10,500 ft / 3,200 m), Urubamba (9,186 ft / 2,800 m) (lunch) and Ollantaytambo (9,186 ft / 2,800 m).

Chinchero: initially striking for its platforms, which allows us to understand that it was a center of agricultural production in Inca times, a warehouse was also built and the entire complex was equipped with a very efficient irrigation system. In the associations’ workshops of artisans, the entire weaving process is exposed daily from washing the wool to the finished product, learning the techniques of spinning, dyeing and weaving.

Moray Inca Site: Located 7 km from Maras, two hours from Cusco along the Chinchero route, which is one of the most spectacular where there are circular platforms of different sizes. These are experimental agricultural terraces and places of concentration of feminine energy, which is considered a magnetic center of Pachamama.

Maras Salt Mines: Located northwest of the city of Maras, known by some as “salt mines”, are made up of about 3,000 small wells. Salt has been obtained since pre-Hispanic times through a system of sun-salted water from an underground stream. Once the water has evaporated, the salt is ready for sale.

Urubamba: where you will have lunch.

Last Inca City Ollantaytambo: built to guard the entrance to this part of the valley and protect it from possible invasions by the lowland jungle tribes. The fortress consists of a series of carved stone terraces to which you have to climb long stairs.

16:00 hrs We will continue to the train station located in Ollantaytambo where we will board the train to Machu Picchu town where we will spend the night.

7:00 p.m. the guide will visit you to provide you with more details about the next day.

Hotel night in Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu town)

7:00 AM our guide will be waiting for you at the meeting point, we will go to the bus station to climb 400 meters high, during a 30-minute trip to reach the incredible wonder of the world “Machu Picchu Sanctuary”, known as “the Lost City of the Incas”.

Upon arriving at the citadel of Machu Picchu known as “the Lost City of the Incas” we will pass the control where you will show your entry ticket from this place the guided tour will begin, visiting the most important places this will depend on the type of income we acquire at the time of your reservation. The tour will take approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes.

At the end we will return to Aguas Calientes or Machu Picchu town where you will have time to enjoy your lunch, which you can choose from one of the many restaurants you will find.

2:30 p.m. We will board the train back to Cusco (show up at the station 30 minutes before the departure time of your train), the return will follow the same route as the outward trip, arriving at the train station in Ollantaytambo, Transportation will be waiting to take you back to Cusco

We recommend you arrive 30 minutes in advance at the train station. In Machu Picchu, wear comfortable shoes to climb the stairs. We recommend bringing a light backpack, camera, hat, sunscreen, repellent, and a bottle of water. Enjoy the magical moment and recharge your batteries. As we approach the summit, you’ll be surrounded by snowy mountains like Ausangate. We’ll arrive at the mountain of colors between 10:30 AM and 11:00 AM.

We booked the private Machu Picchu experience for two, including a private car transfer from Cusco to the train station, the Vistadome train, and a private guided tour of the site. It is certainly a premium-priced experience, but for such a once-in-a-lifetime destination, I would absolutely do it again.Everything was perfectly organized from start to finish. Communication with Tania was excellent throughout the booking process. She was always responsive and helpful, and even came to our hotel the day before to hand over all our tickets, explain the itinerary in detail, and answer all our questions. That personal touch was greatly appreciated. When we arrived at the train station, our guide, Willy, warmly welcomed us and stayed with us throughout the entire visit. He was incredibly friendly, professional, and knowledgeable, sharing fascinating insights into the history, culture, and significance of Machu Picchu. His English was excellent, making every explanation easy to understand. He also knew all the best photo spots and helped us capture some unforgettable memories. To top it off, he recommended a very good restaurant (not included in the price) for after our visit, which was the perfect end to the visit while waiting for the return transfer.Be prepared for a long day from Cusco—our day started at 5:00 a.m. and we returned around 8:30 p.m. Most of the time is spent on transportation, transfers, and waiting (each way is around 4 hours: car+train+bus), while the visit to Machu Picchu itself lasts around 2.5 hours (we had booked Circuit 1, which offers the best views although you are not able to enter the village itself (this would be circuit 2). However, every minute is absolutely worth it.A big thank you to Tania and especially to Willy for making this unforgettable experience so smooth and enjoyable. Highly recommended!

Wow, what great service! I’ve been on many tours and few have had the clarity and communication skills that Tania and her team had. From the moment I reached out in interest to the end of the Machu Picchu excursion, Tania was exceptionally clear and helpful, making every step very easy to follow. Planning Machu Picchu on your own is *technically* possible, but it takes a tremendous amount of work to plan with a lot of unknown variables. Booking a tour with Machu Picchu Peru Travel makes it easy for not much more cost, and eases the anxiety of all the unknowns with the complex journey. It is truly a great value for travelers. Now if only I could have Tania organize the rest of life…! :)

We recently traveled to Peru with our family and close friends, six of us in total, and had a truly wonderful experience thanks to this travel agency and Tania. Communication with Tania was smooth and consistent throughout the trip. She kept us updated daily about our guides, though receiving that information a bit earlier would have been even better. Most of our guides spoke English, which was especially helpful since only two members of our group spoke Spanish. Our Machu Picchu guide Willie, stood out as exceptional—he was incredibly knowledgeable and a fantastic communicator, making that part of the journey especially memorable.Everyone we encountered was friendly, punctual, and courteous. Safety was a top priority for us, and we felt completely comfortable with all the transportation provided. Overall, the trip was well organized and truly unforgettable.

Inti Raymi was well executed and choreographed performance and ceremony. The tour company did excellent in communicating how to meet , what to bring , how to get in and how to exit. It is the type of festival you get to do once just to experience it. It was very crowded though , and everything takes forever to do (like to get to your seat). Plan at least 2 hours before and after the show.

It was a super fun experience. Glad I did it but wouldn’t need to do it a second time. Machu Picchu Peru Travel was impeccable as always though! Great lunch that quinoa bowl was delicious. Fresh fruit. They guided us through everything kept it organized Willy was great and Tania was amazing setting it all up. The value is a weird thing for me to review because it was super cool experience and would never do it without tickets but I didn’t understand a lot because the ceremony didn’t even let the Spanish translator go off most of the time and then the English translator spoke very low. But like the festival was dope and neat. Lots of amazing performers and costumes but sat there a little lost. Value for Machu Picchu Peru travel is priceless though.
