Trip Summary

DAY 1: CUSCO – SANTA MARIA

Depart from Cusco at 7:30 am, driving through the Sacred Valley to Abra Malaga at 4,316 meters. Enjoy a thrilling downhill bike ride through the Alfamayo forests to Santa Maria. Optional afternoon rafting in Vilcanota River.

DAY 2: SANTA MARIA – SANTA TERESA

Begin the day with a 5:30 am breakfast, followed by a dawn hike to Santa Rosa. Trek along the real Inca Trail to Qellomayo for lunch, then continue to the Colcamayo thermal baths for relaxation. Overnight stay in Santa Teresa.

DAY 3: SANTA TERESA – AGUAS CALIENTES

Morning option for canopy or zipline adventure. After breakfast, cross the Urubamba River to the hydroelectric base town for lunch. Trek to Aguas Calientes for dinner and hotel check-in.

DAY 4: MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO

Start early for a sunrise hike to Machu Picchu. Guided tour of the citadel, followed by free time to explore. Optional hike to Huayna Picchu. Return to Cusco by train and bus.

Itinerary

DAY 1:

CUSCO - ABRA MALAGA - SANTA MARIA

They will be picked up in the morning 7:30 am at your hotel and driven through the stunning Sacred Valley of the Inca civilization cradle for about 4 hours to arrive, so at the 4,316 meters above sea level known as the passage of Carrizales.

We will continue to drive down to San Luis, where we change team with bikes, gloves and helmets after a conference five minutes from our experienced guide.

Then the fun begins, you will not have to catch your breath until the first stop on forests Alfamayo, we will have a downhill bike for about 3 hours to Santa Maria where you can enjoy our lunch while enjoying panoramic views endless.

This day in the afternoon we have the option of boating (rafting) for 1 hour and a half in the Vilcanota River (Class III, IV). Or if you want Browsing the Internet, buy provisions or just rest your legs and enjoy a cold beer before dinner traditional Peruvian food.

Tonight, you can have a hot shower at a family run hostel and sleep, either, double or triple.

Meeting at 5.30am, shake their limbs and enjoy the best indigenous coffee prepared by your landlady for breakfast which is at 6am. Under a sky of dawn walk, which is becoming more pronounced, up to the cozy family restaurant in Santa Rosa, where you can rest in hammocks, admiring the coca plantations and refreshments while being entertained starts monkey family.
After a while you will reach the real Inca Trail, which winds around steep slopes and precipices of about half a mile. The descent continues for more than two hours to Qellomayo, a small town, where we have lunch.

Make sure you have saved enough energy for the final stretch, a river walk along the Vilcanota River to the delicious thermal baths Colcamayo.

Rejuvenate in the warm azure waters and forget your weary step in these natural environments.
After the hot springs we head to our final section the village of Santa Teresa where we will spend our second night stay after dinner.

This day in the morning we will have the option to make the canopy or zipline (monkey tail).
For after breakfast we will go to another oroya and cross the Urubamba river to reach the hydroelectric base town for Machu Picchu.

In this town we have lunch, then we will walk for about 2 and a half hours to reach Aguas Calientes where you will have dinner at a local restaurant and finally retire to your hotel with hot water and a private bathroom.

When you start early today (5:00 am), we will start ascendo for an hour hike to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, thus being one of the first groups to reach the citadel and so enjoy the majestic sunrise.

Then we will visit about 2 hours by the most important venues such as the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Sun Dial (the most important Intihuatana), the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows, houses, warehouses, a large central plaza. then you have free time to enjoy self machupicchu.

Those who still have the will can tackle the mountain of Huayna Picchu and take a hike of 1 hour and Machu Picchu to appreciate a high point.

In due time we will have to descend by bus to Aguas Calientes to board the train back to Ollantaytambo and then the bus to Cusco
