We have our own private port on the Tambopata River.
Our tour will take you sailing along the Tambopata River for approximately 2 to 3 hours to the Sachavacayoc Farm (If you wish, we can make stops to observe the wildlife more closely, although this can lengthen the navigation time, in our private groups our tour is flexible).
Throughout the tour we will be able to observe birds, alligators, capybaras and monkeys if we are lucky.
We will be able to enjoy our Box lunch on the boat; if you wish, we can offer you vegetarian or vegan options, according to your requirement; we also offer you the possibility of bringing water which you can refill on the boat.
In the company of our guide we will arrive at our Sachavacayoc Farm where we will be able to rest and spend the night accompanied by the sounds of the Amazon jungle.
After taking a break we will take a walk through the jungle, as an introduction to nature and the interior of the forest, we will wait until dark to take a night walk in search of the elusive nocturnal creatures and insects, such as Tarantula (as big as a hand).
Dinner at the Sachavacayoc Lodge
We will visit the Macaw Clay Lick “El Chuncho,” the largest CLAY LICK in the world, where the three main species of macaws and many varieties of parrots gather. Hundreds of parrots come together to eat clay, a unique behavior found in this region.
We will star the tour early at 4 a.m. and travel upriver on the Tambopata River for 2 hours. To fully enjoy the spectacle of the parrots and macaws, it is important to arrive before the birds do. During this tour, we will have a buffet breakfast while observing their natural activity.
On the way to the clay lick, we may see capybaras, caimans, and, with luck, jaguars or tapirs. We will spend time at the clay lick to observe the macaws eating clay, depending on the season. Afterward, we will return to the lodge for lunch and some rest.
In the afternoon, we will prepare for a visit to the pristine Lago Condenado, located one hour from the lodge. At the lake, we can see monkeys, caimans, hoatzins, and macaws, with a good chance of spotting the elusive anaconda. We will arrive, take a canoe to explore the deep jungle, and then return to the lodge for a night walk to search for wildlife or simply enjoy the jungle’s romantic, intense, silent, and noisy atmosphere.
After enjoying breakfast we will visit the spectacular Sachavacayoc Lake which is located in the heart of the Tambopata Reserve. The lake is about a 2 hour slow walk, during which we will be able to observe nature.
On your visit to Sachavacayoc Lake we will be able to observe wildlife such as spider monkeys, anacondas, giant otters and, with luck, tapirs. For many travelers this tour is a wonderful and unique experience.
When we arrive mid-morning we will take a rowboat to explore the wildlife around. So that you can better enjoy the place, we will provide you with a box lunch for a full day of exploration.
If you wish, you can return to the lodge for lunch and enjoy extra time at the beautiful farm to rest and enjoy the amenities offered.
While we navigate the river, we will have the opportunity to see the great Amazon alligator at night before dinner.
