The best part of the day: Walk near the impressive Ausangate and explore beautiful lagoons of different colors.
We’ll start the day by picking you up from your hotel and heading south of Cusco. We’ll pass through charming villages where people wear colorful traditional clothes, keeping their culture and traditions intact. We’ll make a quick stop in Ccatca to visit its plaza and some of its streets that make the place even more beautiful.
Next, we’ll travel along the interoceanic highway that connects Peru with Brazil until we reach Pacchanta, located over 4,000 meters high. Here, a wonderful local family will welcome us into their home for a nutritious breakfast made with Andean ingredients. After breakfast, we’ll head to the Vilcanota mountain range, where you’ll see the spectacular Ausangate glacier, one of the most amazing glaciers that feeds the beautiful lagoons we’ll visit on our hike.
We’ll then climb for about three and a half hours to reach the Ninaparayoc viewpoint. Along the way, we’ll pass Comercocha and Alqacocha, lagoons with blue and turquoise waters at the foot of the mysterious Callangate glacier. Later, we’ll return to Pacchanta and visit lagoons like Patacocha, Otorongocha, and Azulcocha.
Before soaking in the relaxing hot springs of Pacchanta, we’ll go back to our host family’s home for a delicious lunch. Finally, happy with this beautiful experience, we’ll take the private transport back to Cusco.
