Machu Picchu Peru travel .com
When we were planning our bucket list trip to Machu Picchu we wanted to make sure it was a memorable event that was trouble free and gave us the best experience.
We need extensive research on how to have the longest stay in the site, best way to get there and how to get a personalized experience.
We were warned about scams, poor and unscrupulous travel operators in Peru.
We booked via Aviator who sub contracted to “Mach Picchu Peru travel .com”. My suggestion is to book directly with the mppt.com.
We booked the private Machu Picchu full day tour from Cusco on vista down train. Tour operator code 187262
They were extremely professional. They contracted us a week before to give us logistics. They met us a day before with an envelope with tickets and gift for the kids.
The entire trip worked like clock work. A spacious mini bus with a pleasant driver collected us on time from the hotel and drove us to the train station.
The visa train was luxurious with coffee and cakes while we traveled through the mountains with amazing views.
The guide collected us at the train station in Aguas Calientes and guided us into bus and up to the entrance.
The site is now well managed with only one way to walk through the site, so there is no chaos. Be aware though take pictures all the way as you can’t go back. The view was Awe inspiring even though it rained a bit.
Only negative was we felt that the guide was rushing us.
Lessons learnt : it’s not cold in Dec so no jackets and gloves required. Make sure you have a rain cover and water proof bag. Don’t need much food as the 4 hours fly by so just light snacks are fine. Ensure you push the guide to spend at least 4 hours in park ( 3 hours with them and stay another hour to take in the experience by yourself near the exit. )
