Our Commitment
In compliance with Supreme Decree No. 005-2020-MINCETUR, which approves the Regulations for Travel and Tourism Agencies, MACHU PICCHU PERU TRAVEL has adopted the Code of Conduct against the Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents (ESNNA).
We thereby reaffirm our organizational code of ethics and reject, report and condemn any practice related to the sexual abuse or exploitation of minors in Peru and throughout the world. This commitment applies to our representatives, employees, guides, contractors, suppliers and every service connected with our operation.
What does ESNNA mean?
ESNNA refers to the sexual exploitation of girls, boys and adolescents. It includes using a person under 18 for sexual, pornographic or erotic purposes in exchange for payment, a promise, benefit or any other form of compensation.
Ethical declaration
In this travel agency, we do not promote or permit the sexual exploitation of girls, children or adolescents, nor any other criminal offense of which we become aware in the course of our activities.
Tourism must never be used to facilitate abuse. Any sexual activity involving a person under 18 is prohibited and may be subject to criminal penalties under Peruvian law.
How We Act
Prevention is part of every service.
Our public policy reflects the duties established by MINCETUR's Code of Conduct and the prevention measures required of tourism service providers in Peru.
Informed team
We inform and train our staff on prevention, warning signs, responsible conduct and reporting duties.
Responsible programs
Our tours and promotions never offer, suggest or facilitate activities or places linked to ESNNA.
Immediate reporting
We report suspected or known cases immediately to the National Police or Public Prosecutor's Office.
Shared responsibility
Employees, guides, contractors and suppliers are informed of this policy and expected to comply with it.
Visible information
We publish and display the official prevention notice so travelers know the law and how to report.
Protection in accommodation services
A person under 18 may enter a lodging room only with a parent, legal guardian or duly accredited responsible adult, subject to the documentation and exceptions established by Peruvian law. We work only with providers expected to observe these protection rules.
Take Action
If you know something, report it.
If a child or adolescent may be in immediate danger, contact the authorities without delay. A report may be made anonymously through the appropriate public channels.
Do not confront a suspected offender or expose the identity of the child. Share the available facts directly with the competent authority.
