The Vilcanota mountain range is a spectacular chain, and is located between two major rivers in the region, the Urubamba and Apurimac rivers.
Nevado Salkantay is located at the eastern end of the Vilcanota chain and reaches a height of 6.270 meters above sea level.

Recommendations
This part of the route is different from the other days. While MOLLEPATA is very warm, hikers should be prepared for promotion and higher altitudes and colder weather to reach the mountaintop.
Hikers should have spent at least 1 to 2 days acclimatising in the Cusco region before embarking on this path.

DAY 1: CUSCO - MOLLEPATA - MARCCO QASA - LAGUNA HUMANTAY - SORAYPAMPA

DAY 3: CHAULLAY - COLPAPAMPA - SAHUAYACO - LUCMABAMBA

Leaving the hotel at 5:30 am we will go on our transport to Mollepata (2,900 meters), Mollepata is a small attractive town built on the slopes of the upper Apurimac River, spectacular journey through Limatambo and excellent view panoramic Apurimac Valley, where we will have a breakfast in a typical restaurant of the population. Then we continue for 30 minutes more, until the start of our trek to Sayllapata to 3 400 m.s.n.m. we will find our wranglers and staff travel, take us to the communities of Cruzpata, Challacancha, Andean towns near Soraypampa located at 3750 m.s.n.m. where we will have lunch. Then the rise is approximately 5 hours to Soyroqcocha 4 300 m.s.n.m. place of our first camp on our way we will see the typical Andean flora and fauna. Impressive Salkantay Mountain will be above us during this stretch, and will camp just below the glacier Salkantay,passengers for this reason is recommended to bring a sleeping bag, good for sub-zero temperatures

Today after breakfast we begin our trek to the highest point of our trip pass Salkantay (4,600 m) during ascent (4hrs approx), can enjoy the different lagoons and appreciate the change of ecological floor area high mountain, if the weather is clear we will see the Apu Salkantay (6500 m) which is one of the highest and most important mountains of Cusco. After a short rest and a shooting session, we will begin a long descent towards Chaullay.
Lunch at Huayraqmarchay.
During this long descent we can literally see changes in vegetation as areas ranging from high mountains to the rainforest, with a dense forest.

The road today is very beautiful. The vegetation is very dense and we will see a variety of orchids and water from the impressive waterfall of about 80 meters high.
After reaching Lucmabamba, where we have lunch we will have the opportunity to see how they work coffee, from planting, processing and finally a real taste of coffee. (Optional) In the afternoon if they want to visit the thermal baths Coccalmayo.

After breakfast we will climb about 3 hours, through an original Inca trail to reach the first archaeological site of this trail in this part of the mountain there is lots of greenery, flowers, shrubs, trees, forest high once I reached the archaeological site, we will have a view of Machu Picchu after being in Llaqtapata, we will go to Hidroelectrica where we have lunch, then continue towards the village of Machu Picchu and through Mandor Waterfall, also known by its botanical gardens showing beautiful and colorful flowers, we reach the village of Aguas Calientes, where we spend the night in a comfortable hotel with private rooms, hot shower, cable TV and Wi-Fi. At approximately 19:00, we will have dinner and final preparations for the most important day visit to the sacred city of the Incas Machu Picchu.

Very early after breakfast (around 5:00 am), start climbing for an hour trek to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, in this way, we could be one of the first groups of the Inca city that allows us to enjoy the majestic dawn, then we will have a guided tour of approximately 02 hours touring the most important compounds temples Incas and palaces inside the citadel of Machu Picchu tour, then you can explore the mysterious city on your own (optional ascent of Huayna Picchu mountain, additional cost of $ 10 per person).
In due time, we will descend to Machu Picchu to "Aguas Calientes" to board the train back to Ollantaytambo and from there, the car back to Cusco.
