The archaeological site of Choquequirao is located in the foothills of the mountain range of Salcantay, at 3035 meters above sea level, surrounded by the Apus of Yanama, Ampay, Choquecarpu, Pumasillo and Panta snow covered the right side of Apurimac river in the Santa Teresa district, province of La Convention department of Cusco. Choquequirao is an Inca town formed by small sites distributed in masonry, in adjacent buildings in a similar to those of the other regions placed on the top of the hill of the same name of Choquequirao complex metropolis.

We leave Cusco early in the morning in our private transport and drive to the town of Cachora. Along the way, we visit the archaeological sites and Tarawasi Sawite. Overnight in San Pedro de Cachora surrounded by magnificent views of Mount Padrilloq (6,000 m).
In the morning, where we will have our breakfast. Henceforth we have the equipment on mules and horses. From there you can observe the majestic snow-capped peaks Padrayoc, which is 5482 m
The hike on this first day is 21.70 kilometers away. On the way Padrayoc and Wayna Cachora observe snow-capped peaks, you can appreciate the beautiful change of scenery from precipices to snowy mountains.
We have our lunch in a place called Playa Rosalina at 1:00 pm. On the way we will observe Apurimac canyon with its impressive depth and in Santa Rosa we will set up our camp.
The approximate time of the hike is about 10 h. On this day we will pass the settlements: La Colmena (2870masl), La Aguada (2915masl), Capuliyoc (2915masl) look impressive to the point where we can see all Apurimac Valley, Huayhuacalle (2970masl), Tinajayoc (2630masl) Mirador (2370masl), Cocamasana (2330masl), Torowisqana (2285masl), Chiquisqa (1950 masl) where forest where we can find water, Playa Rosalina (1550 masl in the field), La Huerta (2705masl) and finally arrived at Santa Rosa (2115masl ).
Early morning (5:00 am) after breakfast, we continue our hike going up to Choquequirao. We arrive at the archaeological site of Choquequirao after 5 hours. Good time to enjoy that majestic place.
We will observe the three levels of the excavated ruin, where we can appreciate houses, terraces and other parts of this late-Inca city, like the ruins in excavation process and finally unexplored areas that can tell us about this last refuge of the oppressed Inca Empire.
At approximately 3 pm (depending on weather) we can appreciate "the flight of the Condors". Our guides will explain the history and importance of the site after the arrival of the Spanish in Peru. We will continue Cochequirao camping. In the afternoon we will visit all Choquequirao.
After breakfast visit more ruins of Choquequirao and walk back to Chiquisqa. On the way we can observe again Apurimac canyon. Here we may be lucky to appreciate the flight of the Condors, the exuberant vegetation and its variety of flowers and orchids.
The time of the hike is about 10 hours. Altitude: 3033-1950 m.s.n.m. passing the same small settlements along the way. We stop in Playa Rosalina where we will have our lunch and after that we will continue Chiquisqa. Here we will spend the night in our camp.
Early morning after breakfast (5:00 am), we continue to arrive to Cachora. On the hike we can appreciate the majestic snowcapped peak Padrayoc that decorate to Apurimac canyon again.
Walking time to reach Cachora is about 7 hours.
